Can I leave the lights on overnight while I sleep without worrying about fire?
Yes. The LEDs stay cool to the touch, the battery box is sealed, and the built-in auto timer can be set to shut the lights off after 6 hours. Many people use them as a sleep-friendly night light for this reason.
Will the battery box ever overheat or leak if it stays on for many hours?
The 3W LED draws very little power, so the case stays cool during normal use. Using quality AA batteries and removing them if you will not use the lights for several weeks prevents any chance of corrosion from a dead battery.
Are these safe to drape over a dried flower wreath, eucalyptus garland, or a paper advent calendar?

My house has curious pets that chew cords. Is the cable safe if they get to it?

How do I turn the lights on and switch between the 8 lighting modes?
Press the button on the battery case once to power the string on in steady mode, then press it again to cycle through combinations, twinkle, slow glow, chasing, fade, and the rest of the 8 modes. Hold the button for a couple of seconds to turn the string off without losing your mode setting.
How does the built-in timer work, and do I have to use it?
After you switch the string on, leave it running and the timer will automatically keep the lights on for 6 hours and off for 18 hours, repeating every day until you switch them off or remove the batteries. You can absolutely use the lights without the timer by simply turning them off manually after each use.
What batteries do I need, and are they included?
Each string runs on 3 AA batteries, which are not included in the box. We recommend standard alkaline AAs for casual use and rechargeable NiMH AAs if you plan to run the lights frequently.
Will these work with rechargeable AA batteries or a USB power bank?
Yes, any standard AA rechargeable battery that fits the case will work. The string is not designed to run off USB, so a power bank is not a direct option, but a set of quality rechargeable AAs is the most eco-friendly way to power them.
Can I connect multiple strings end to end to make one longer run?
Each pack runs on its own battery box, so you can place several packs along a fence, mantel, or pergola and they will all light up independently. They are not wired to daisy chain into a single power source, but staggering the battery boxes is usually invisible once the lights are installed.
What is in the box when I open the package?
You will receive the string light strand with the attached green wire, sealed battery box, and any quick-start documentation. Batteries, extension cords, and decorative clips are not included and can be picked up separately if you need them.
How long will the bulbs last before I have to replace the string?
